Ruby Hutson-Ellenberg graduated in 2016 from Hunter College where she epitomized the definition of “liberal arts student” by majoring in Creative Writing and now works with really nice people in a financial services research firm. Hutson-Ellenberg worked on the FringeNYC play, Eve and Her Neighbors, in a Primary Stages class. The play placed second in the CUNY-Hunter English Department’s 2015 Andrew and Eleanor McGlinchee prize for a play.
In her very early years, Hutson-Ellenberg wrote primarily about animals, including an unproduced epic about a seahorse war. She is grateful for the encouragement of a high school Drama teacher at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts -- in her favorite borough of Queens -- who forced her to try playwriting and later awarded her the school’s Arthur Miller Prize.
Karen Hutson is a lawyer and hearing officer in New York City.
